Bringing a Fall Vision to Life
When a client first approached us with the idea of an entirely fall wedding at Montaluce Winery, we were delighted. Fall is a season that naturally lends itself to warmth, texture, and intimacy—the very qualities we love to translate into floral and design work. From the first conversation, it was clear this couple wanted a day that felt lived-in and golden: layered fabrics, candlelight that flickered into the evening, and blooms that echoed the colors of turning leaves. Transforming that inspiration into a real, tactile experience takes a lot of thought and many hours of careful planning, and that is exactly what we gave this celebration.

Design Begins Long Before the Flowers Arrive
One of the most important things we want clients to know is how much pre-wedding care goes into creating the final look. Long before the first bloom touches a vase, we spend time talking, sketching, moodboarding, and coordinating logistics. Those conversations can run for weeks and sometimes months, depending on how early a client approaches us.
We discuss the venue’s natural architecture and sightlines, the ceremony and reception flow, the couple’s personal style, and practical matters like transportation and timing. During this phase, we also assemble the “dry goods” — all the non-perishable elements that anchor a design: vases, urns, candle holders, runners, linens, ribbons, and any special props. Every piece is tested for scale, compatibility, and durability before event day.

Sourcing the Perfect Seasonal Florals
Once the dry goods are organized and on site, the next big piece is the florals themselves. For this project we sourced blooms from a diverse network of growers: local farms in Georgia, growers across the U.S., and specialty partners in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Fall weddings benefit from that broad sourcing, as domestic and imported varieties create depth and richness. We paired locally grown dahlias and garden roses with preserved textures and foliages from abroad to build color, structure, and longevity into the designs.

Preparing for the Wedding Week
For most weekend weddings, our process begins the Tuesday before the event. That morning, the flower shipment arrives at our studio and the meticulous work of processing begins. Every stem is inspected, trimmed, and hydrated to ensure freshness and longevity.
Simultaneously, the team prepares dry goods—cleaning, steaming linens, testing candle holders, and running mockups of key installations to confirm balance, color, and proportion.
Design Days: Bringing the Vision to Life
Wednesday through Friday are our design days, when creativity takes center stage. Bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces are built, tested, and photographed for consistency.
For the ceremony at Montaluce, we focused on creating a warm, enveloping backdrop that harmonized with the winery’s Tuscan-inspired architecture. Deep burgundy, rust, burnt orange, and amber tones played against olive greens and textured foliage. Berries, grasses, and preserved accents added autumn depth and dimension.

Flawless Execution Through Planning and Coordination
Every stem, ribbon, and taper is double-checked before loading for the venue. A detailed load-in plan outlines what goes first and who manages each task, ensuring smooth coordination with planners, photographers, and caterers.
The Wedding Day at Montaluce Winery
Saturday is the culmination of all the preparation. Montaluce’s sweeping vineyard views and warm stone architecture provided a stunning backdrop. We collaborated with Hamer Visuals, an incredible North Georgia photographer, whose artistry captured the warmth and emotion of the day.
The ceremony design framed the couple naturally within the vineyard. Vertical garlands climbed the structure, while soft candlelight illuminated the aisle. For the reception, arrangements varied in height to encourage conversation, accented by autumnal elements like small gourds and dried textures.

Candlelight, Safety, and Atmosphere
Candlelight transformed the reception into something truly magical. We used enclosed votives, hurricane glass, and drip-protected tapers—each tested for safety and approved by the venue. Coordination with photographers ensured the perfect glow for every shot.
Commitment to Sustainability
Sourcing globally means being mindful of impact. We prioritize local growers, use sustainable foam alternatives where possible, and repurpose decorative materials post-event. Flowers in good condition are often boxed for families or donated to local charities.
The Final Touch: Breakdown and Gratitude
After the celebration, our team manages a full breakdown and cleanup. We handle removal so the couple can relax and enjoy their newlywed moments without logistics in mind.
Working on this Montaluce wedding reminded us why we love what we do—the blend of creativity, precision, and collaboration that transforms a vision into an experience.
